This village, located in Minor Clan territory, was named for its founding, when a traveling ronin saw a zokujin in the nearby mountains and followed it, discovering a valuable vein of copper there.[1]
Destroyer War[]
In 1173 the village was under attack for several weeks during the Destroyer War. Initially it was defended by Kakita Idzuki forces. A charge through a mountainous pass made by Destroyer reinforcements was utterly destroyed by an avalanche that fell upon them, blocking the pass. The avalanche seemed that was provoked by the powerful earth magic of the zokujin, which probably had been recalled by the Kuni Daimyo Kuni Kiyoshi. [2] The defenders used the avalanche remains as a barricade. [3] In a renewed assault the armies of Rokugan could successfully defend the village against the invading forces of Kali-Ma with the aid of Togashi Mitsu, the Oracle of Thunder. [4]
