Please note: This article is about the monk. For other uses of the term, please see Yoshi (disambiguation). |
Yoshi was the head monk of the western Temple of the Four Temples at Kyūden Seppun. He was an aged monk who enjoyrf studying the Tao of Shinsei and wanted to share Shinsei's wisdom with everyone. He was a cheerful monk, tall and thin, who retained the energy of youth despite his age. [1] In 1123 the Brotherhood held their annual conclave at the Mountain Song Temple under the hospitality of Mirumoto Daimyō Mirumoto Masashige, being its main agenda item a vote on whether to formally bestow the label of False Path on the Perfect Land Sect, with the risk to fall into a violent schism. Yoshi knew two of his fellow abbots were firmly set against the Perfect Land, but he had not yet made up his mind. Historical arguments were the most persuasive to him, especially ones citing previous examples of False Paths or unusual sects admitted to the Brotherhood. [2]
