Training[]
Competitions of kobune races, known as the Race, were part of the training, as they were a chance to put their knowledge and talent into practice, as well as compete their skill level with the other sailors of the Clan. These races also helped strengthen the character of each individual who competed in them. [2]
The dojo also offered a limited course of training in the art of dueling with kama or tonfa two-handed, known as the Whirlwind, which would be used as a means of settling disputes, as well as something of a popular spectator sport. [3]
