Yoritomo Asuka was a courtier of the Mantis Clan.
Station[]
Asuka was born the daughter of a senior Mantis functionary in Rokugan's Imperial Treasury, where the courtier took a position through her family connections. The talents Asuka displayed eventually gained the favor of the Imperial Treasurer Yoritomo Utemaro. [1]
Colonies[]
Asuka was sent as a liaison to Colonies on behalf of the Imperial Treasury. Asuka was particularly demanding of her subordinates, acquiring an infamous reputation in the Ivory Court for the public reprisals she meted out on those who had failed to meet her standards. She took the eye of the Imperial Governor of the Colonies Otomo Suikihime, who appointed her as the Minister of the Census, head of the Ministry of Taxation. [1]
