People

Yohihotsu was the Mantis Clan Champion after the seppuku of the former Champion, guilty of betrayal to the Emperor.

Mantis Clan Champion[]

Yohihotsu proved his loyalty to the Emperor when he returned with the young Imperial Heir, who he had been kidnapped by his Lord Gusai Rioshida as part of a coup. Yohihotsu was made the Champion of the Mantis Clan and Rioshida was commanded to commit seppuku. What history did not record was that Rioshida gave the boy to Yohihotsu and commanded him to return him when he knew his coup failed and he needed a scapegoat for his clan. [1]

Fighting Piracy[]

In 514 a tsunami ravaged the coasts of the Empire, and many of Mantis ship captains resorted to piracy to survive. Yohihotsu forbade piracy and waged war against any rebellious captains. [2]

Legacy[]

Yohihotsu placed Chousen, the Ancestral Armor of the Gusai family on display at Kyuden Gotei. [3] He ordered to forge the Ancestral Weapons of the Mantis in 511. [4]

Rumors[]

Some whispered that Yohihotsu was the illegitimate son of Gusai Rioshida. [5]
