The Well of the Ateru was a sacred place in the lands of the Phoenix's Kaito family, was another such place; a soul who died at the bottom of that well, [1] Ateru, [2] had such anger and hate that over time, it eroded Ningen-dō until Tōshigoku was in its place. [1]
