Usagi Furiko was the wife of the Hare Clan Champion Usagi Gohei. When Shiro Usagi came under attack from an army of 200 bloodspeakers, Gohei held the defense with 50 men while Furiko rode to enlist aid. First she rode to the Scorpion Clan but Bayushi Gohaku would not send help. The Crane Clan would not help either, so when she reached the Lion Clan she decided to use a different approach. She baited Matsu Shirogama with promises of victories that would make the Scorpion and Crane envious. Shirogama pledged her aid, and Furiko returned with allies to help defend Shiro Usagi. Gohei was killed in the battle, but Furiko took up the Hare Clan Sword and led the clan to victory. [1]

Game Master's Page; The Hare Clan page 21 claims that Furiko herself struck down Iuchiban. The book also claims this was 500 years ago (approx 7th century). The Hare Clan weren't founded until 750, the second rise of Iuchiban. In all likelyhood this was an error, and it was merely a bloodspeaker army intent on revenge for Reichin's part in the second fall of Iuchiban. |
