Tsumaru was a princess of the Ningyo race, who married Shiba, the Phoenix Kami. Their marriage briefly united the undersea kingdom of the Ningyo with the fledging Shiba family. On the day of their wedding, Tsumaru forged a sword named Ofushikai and gifted it to Shiba. The sword was stronger beneath the waves and allowed its wielder to breathe water as if it were air. As the years passed Tsumaru grew weak from her time away from the sea. After the Day of Thunder, when Shiba vanished in the Shadowlands, she dove into the sea below the cliffs of Castle Shiba, becoming a fish by the time she broke the waters. [1]
