Tonbo Asami was the Dragonfly Clan Champion in the late 12th century.
Champion[]
Asami was trained in the Shiba Bushi school, but she was also one of Rokugan's foremost experts in divination. Her two priorities were to keep the peace with the Lion Clan and to locate Tonbo Toryu, the Dark Oracle of the Void. [1]
Rise of Jigoku[]
The Dragon Clan foresaw the rise of Jigoku and that the Empire would be ruled by the Spider Clan. To avoid the destruction of the Tao of Shinsei teachings they severed themselves from the Empire. In 1200 all Dragon were moved north of Last Step Castle alongside with those Tonbo who decided to follow them. The Dragon Wall was magically built with no gate, no door, stretching to the top of the mountainsides, from the high base of Morning Frost Castle to the other side of the pass. From Mirumoto Masunobe he received a gift for the Tonbo on behalf of the Zurui, an alms bowl once belonging to Shinsei. Asami pondered with Kitsuki Kinaro, his childhood friend, if he would follow the Dragon or he would remain in his ancestral lands. [2]
