Togashi Mitsu was an ise zumi of the Dragon Clan, who was selected as heir to his Lord, the Dragon Clan Champion Togashi Yokuni. [1]
Dragon Heir[]
The peasant [2] boy So had been an acolyte at Fukurokujin Seidō, a foundling left there by unknown parents, when Togashi Yokuni had found him. So had become Togashi Mitsu, a member of the ise zumi and heir to the Dragon. [1]
Tattoos[]
Mitsu wreathed with tattoos his torso, arms and his lower legs: monkeys, crows, centipedes, dragonflies. A great crab across his chest and a tiger across his back, and the head of a dragon arching up his neck and over his shaved scalp. All the work of Togashi Gaijutsu, the greatest tattooing master among the ise zumi. [1] He also wore a wolf which granted him improved awareness. [3]
Quest[]
Mitsu helped Togashi Kazue to find her place in the world, but in the process she awakened the woman known as Senzai. His lord Yokuni commanded Mitsu to find the woman for the sake of the Empire. [2] When he found Senzai, they shared a short conversation and let her go. [4]
The Rising Wave[]

Togashi Mitsu
In 1123 during an audience with the Mirumoto Daimyo Mirumoto Masashige Yokuni had a vision of a Rising Wave. The Dragon daimyo were ordered to prepare their bushi, the Dragon must move beyond their borders at last. [1] Mitsu accompanied Mirumoto Hitomi, who led the Army of the Rising Wave marched to Otosan Uchi [5] to aid the Prince. [3] The army entered into Lion territory bypassing the Lion-controlled bridge and crossing the Drowned Merchant River. In the middle of the disputed territory west of Toshi Ranbo, not far from the Lion city of Oiku, Mitsu decided to interven against a group of rōnin who were torturing peasants. Hitomi rebuked his decision, which had put the mission in jeopardy. Eventually they were intercepted by a Lion army led by Ikoma Tsanuri, who granted them safe passage so long as they did not interfere their conflict with the Crane, continued eastward and did not turn back. Mitsu had met Tsanuri once, years ago, not long after she returned from a stint among the Unicorn. [6]
Aiding the Prince[]
When the Army arrived Otosan Uchi, Hitomi moved inside the city to meet the Ruby Champion Agasha Sumiko. In the meantime, Mitsu noticed that the Imperial prince Hantei Daisetsu was fleeing the capital with Iuchi Shahai, realizing that Daisetsu was the Prince his Lord had ordered to aid. [3] Daisetsu's goal was to reach Khanbulak, and from there it would be only a small step to leave the Empire. The trio took different nicknames, Minoru for Mitsu, Kane for Shahai, and Akio for the Crown Prince. Eventually they reached a monastery inside the edge of Dragon lands, where a group of Perfect Land followers formed by two rōnin, Ichirō and Satto, and three peasants, Torao, Hoshu, and Yuki, offered them shelter for the winter. [7]
Champion[]
In the 14th day of the Month of Togashi Togashi died during the Battle of Cherry Blossom Snow, killed by Akuma no Oni himself. Yokuni sacrificed his life to win the day, and he only regretted that he could not prepare Mitsu for the burden of becoming the new Dragon Champion. [8] Mitsu went missing, to endure the pain of being infused with the magical powers of a Dragon Champion, and plagued with visions of the future, both of them overwhelming experiences. [9]
