The Temple Quarter was one of the quarters of Ryokō Owari Toshi, which laid east of the Merchant Quarter. It homed many shrines and temples devoted to the Ten Thousand Fortunes. [1] It was the smallest and quietest of the city's districts, connecting the Noble Quarter and Merchant Quarter. Many criminal organizations posed as monastic orders, and several esoteric temples were merely fronts for money laundering. The massive Temple of the Fortune of Wealth and Generosity could be found there, as could many ancestral shrines and temples to other deities. Unknown to most, deep beneath these streets was the Buried Chamber, which contained the Yogo Mask. [2]
