Tattered Ear
The Tattered Ear was one of the tribes of the Nezumi race. They dwelled within the Shinomen Mori, [1] in the Great Home, and its leader was usually the elder Dreamer. Among the nezumi, they were viewed as particularly fortunate, albeit more reclusive and less aggressive than the other tribes. The Tattered Ear used to have contact with the spirit hunters of the Falcon Clan. [2]

The elder of the Tattered Ear was a Dreamer who lived in the boughs of the Great Home, the inheritor of the memories kept by the one who first communed with the spirits of the tree, the three kodama who helped them to found the Great Home. Generations of Tattered Ear Dreamers learned to listen to the voices of these kodama, and these Dreamers were known as Listeners, and their duty was to interpret the desires of the Great Home for the tribe to understand.
