While I believe that 3e says this about "Champion", it is simply not true. A champion is someone who stands in the place of another person, such as to fight in a duel. Clan Champions are those who stand for every member of a clan in all matters (Phoenix notwithstanding). The difference may be slight, but it is important. ~ShibaRyu~ 15:29, 29 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- Or someone who wins a competition, such as the Topaz Champion. The Emerald Champion, however, is called that because he is the person who stands as the Emperor's champion, not because he won the tournament. There is, again, a difference. ~ShibaRyu~ 15:56, 29 Nov 2005 (UTC)
