Suzume Storytellers were popular in certain courts around Rokugan. The Suzume family placed emphasis upon oral history, because the atmospheric conditions prevailing in Sparrow lands caused paper to decay rapidly. Older generation of Suzume storytellers had an undeserved reputation for engaging In lengihy, dull stories from which listeners could not escape. [1]
