The Standing Time was the nezumi season which began after the Growing Time, when the rise of the sun brought with it the first frost. The main task in the fall was that of striking the camp that had been made for the summer. IT was also the time when the leadership of the Nezumi tribe were selected. The travel usually took two weeks, and the rest of the season was spent to mate and prepare for the winter, or the Lean Time. [1]
