The Silken Promises were a loose association of the Empire's most successful and influential women, including courtiers, courtesans, and even geisha. [1] Its most important and influential members were generally found within the elite geisha houses of Scorpion lands. [2] The Promises worked primarily to protect their own interests, but often acted in alliance with other groups. They were officially sponsored by the Scorpion, but the Promises worked with the Kolat, as well as the Spider Clan. [3]
