The Shrine of Yasuki Kiringu was built at Yasuki Defiance to honor Yasuki Kiringu, the reviled traitor in the annals of the Crane and the famous heroe in the Crab history, the man who made the Yasuki family broke from the Crane and swore their fealty to the Crab which led to the Crane-Crab War. [1]

During the Second Yasuki War, Yasuki Hanko changed hands on an almost weekly basis. When the Crane first captured the village, their first act was to destroy Kiringu's shrine; when the Crab retook it, theirs was to begin rebuilding it. This process was repeated several times until the conflict ended and Yasuki Kiringu's monument was left in Crab hands. [1]
