Shosuro Hodei was a bushi of the Scorpion Clan. He and his brother Shosuro Fujun worked for a bandit and Maho-tsukai, Chizaro, and Hodei became his right hand. Chizaro dealt with oni, and Hodei knew he was plotting something that would consume Ryoko Owari Toshi. When their hideout was found by a group of samurai Fujun surrendered. He begged for his life, and in return Fujun betrayed his master. He was too afraid of the dark bargains Chizaro was performing. Hodei also out his sword down. [1]
