Shizuka Toshi
Shizuka Toshi, the Quiet City, [1] was a remote holding of the Crane Clan which homed the Doji Diplomat School. [2] It was located within the Osari Mori, hidden within a ring of elegant sakura. [3]
Appearance[]
Around a series of cascades and waterfall basins, the rocky terrain was covered with lush maples, tall oaks, and thick bamboo groves. [4] Shizuka Toshi was rather small, built around the academy, boasting a theater, a park, and some restaurants, as well as a vibrant nightlife in spite of its size. The permanent residents—mostly civil retainers, magistrates, and sensei—maintained estates close to the Osari Cascades. The predominant shrines included a shrine to Benten and one to Doji Nio, Lady Doji's second son. The grandest structure was Shizuka Palace, which contained the Doji Academy. Some lesser-known dōjō also existed within the city, such a small yōjimbō dōjō maintained by the Daidoji. Outsiders were rarely permitted into Shizuka Toshi. [5]
