Shiro no Meiyo, the Castle of Honor, was the fortress within Kenson Gakka. [1] The fortress was built into the hillside upon which the city rested. The city walls of Kenson Gakka covered three sides, and the sheer hillside and Shiro no Meiyo comprised the third side. [2]
