Shiotome

The Shiotome were the elite battle maidens of the Utaku family, who deeply embraced Bushidō. There was no finer heavy cavalry in the Empire than the battle maidens, who were revered as legendary cavalry. The dōjō only accepted women who carried the Utaku name, and even then prospective students must meet stringent standards of prowess and honor. This was the only school in the Empire that taught the secrets required to tame the powerful Utaku steeds, massive warhorses that refused all other riders.

Training Grounds

In winter, the Battle Maidens moved to Hyōzenshō, the Outpost of Ice, in the least hospitable Unicorn holding. The empty wastes around the way station provided a perfect training ground for them.
