Shinko was one of the nine Kings of Hell, loyal servants of Emma-Ō, [1] who accompanied the Fortune and his mazoku when they descended from Tengoku to reconquer the world below. They seized the levels now known as Meido, Gaki-dō, and Tōshigoku from the forces of Jigoku, becoming Emma-Ō the ruler of Meido. [2]
