People |
Shinjo Yasamura was the eldest son of Shinjo Altansarnai, the Unicorn Clan Champion, and Iuchi Daiyu, the Iuchi Daimyo. His parents were not married, and had two more children, Shinjo Shono and Shinjo Haruko. [1] Daiyu had another daughter, Iuchi Shahai, [2] who was disliked by the other three siblings. [3]
Appearance and Demeanor[]
Yasamura was sharp and angular, [4] who had a short beard carpeting his square jaw. He was not happy with the idea of becoming the next Unicorn Champion, and his mother did not appoint him as her heir. [3]
Station[]
In 1123 Yasamura requested the aid of the Blue Horde against the forces led by Ikoma Tsanuri, to halt any advance of the Lion armies into the heart of Ikoku Province. [5]
Fighting the Usurpers[]
The Scorpion Clan Champion Bayushi Shoju violently seized control of the Forbidden City with an army of Imperial Legionnaires led by Ambassador Ikoma Ujiaki and loyal Scorpions. He sat upon the Emerald Throne, having murdered the Emperor and declared himself in league with the Shadowlands. Yasamura was part of an assembled army of Crane, Lion, Phoenix, Scorpion, Dragon and Unicorn samurai who began the assault of Otosan Uchi. They received word from the Crab that Hida Kisada had fallen, and Akuma no Oni's horde marched across their provinces with the discipline of a well-trained Shadowlands army. [4] The traitor Shoju was killed and the Shadowlands horde was defeated in the Battle of Cherry Blossom Snow Lake, where the Oni Lord was killed. [6]
Aftermath[]
With the Unicorn heir returned from the Burning Sands, Shinjo Altansarnai and Iuchi Daiyu began preparing to travel home to oversee spring planting and the foaling season. Their three children, Haruko, Yasamura, and Shono remained with Ide Tadaji in the capital to work out a new treaty with the Lion. Iuchi Shahai, who was last seen with Prince Daisetsu, was still missing. [7]
