The Shinjo Stables was one of the largest buildings in the Peasant District of the Second City. It was a series of stables, barracks, and military offices maintained by the Unicorn Clan, built up against the northern wall of the Military District. [1]

In 1198 the new Imperial Governor of the Colonies Otomo Suikihime granted the Unicorn the permission to add several smaller offshoot structures, including guest chambers used to host formal visits from other clans. [2]
