Shinjo Jinturi was a bushi and scout of the Unicorn Clan.

Khol Army[]

Jinturi was a member of the Khol under the command of the taisa Moto Kumari. [1]

War of the Rich Frog[]

In 1165 Jinturi was stationed to guard the roads near the City of the Rich Frog during the fight there. He detained the Hiruma Daimyo, Hiruma Todori, when the Crab crossed Unicorn lands in his way to the Dragon lands. Jinturi escorted Todori to see Kumari. [1]

Yumi of Fire[]

The Oracle of Fire Isawa Mitori had crafted in 1160 the Yumi of Fire, a nemuranai intended to allow one man to stand off an army. It was hidden away in a remote village within the western Unicorn mountains, where it was used by peasants for hunting. Its true essence was awakened when Shinjo Jinturi defended the village from a group of Bloodspeakers. [2] The scout came upon a village under attack from the cultists, and he alone fought them. During the fight Jinturi discovered the yumi and slew the remaining bloodspeakers using its elemental powers. The bow was very powerful and turned any arrow loosed from it into a bolt of pure flame. [3]

Defeated by the Dragon[]

In 1166 Jinturi was part of the Baraunghar Advance Guard led by Shinjo Rao. They were ambushed and destroyed by the Dragon Imperial Legions led by Mirumoto Kei. Jinturi survived and gave words to Moto Chagatai and Shinjo Shono. Chagatai himself appointed him to the White Guard, a dangerous station. [4]

Death[]

The White Guard readily engaged Matsu Kenji's unit near Sukoshi Zutsu. Korin saw the dead corpse of the young scout. Jinturi was fifteen years old. [4]
