Shiba Ujimitsu was the Phoenix Clan Champion. [1]
Appearance[]
Ujimitsu has a squat frame and plain features which mismatched with his trademark winged kataginu jacket. [2]
Phoenix Champion[]
Ujimitsu considered himself a painter, a woodcarver who made portraits for newlyweds and toys for children. When Ofushikai selected him as the new Phoenix Champion, Ujimitsu saw more fit Shiba Musamu for such station. He shared his doubts with the Master of Void Isawa Ujina, who reminded him that the sword had chosen him. [3]
Death[]
In 1123 [4] Ujimitsu passed away, and his death poem was held by his brother and hatamoto, Shiba Sukazu. Ujimitsu was succeeded by Shiba Tsukune as Phoenix Champion. [2]
After Death - TÅshigoku[]
This year Ujimitsu appeared several times to Tsukune, counseling her. Eventually he sacrificed himself to save Tsukune during an investigation in the Kaito lands. Ujimitsu was dragged into TÅshigoku by the Ateru, a restless spirit of the HyÅketsu tribe, the yobanjin ancestors of the Kaito. [3]
