Saadiyah al-Mozedu was a courtier and scholar of the Qamarist Caliphate. She was a hostage, forcing her father to keep quiet against the Caliph's tyranny. [1]
Hostage
Saadiyah was daughter of Abdul Rahim, the emir of the Bandar city of Mozedu. To maintain his rule on the different Caliphate vassals, the caliph Harun al-Hakim took their heirs of as hostages, and Saadiyah was moved to al-Zawira, secluded in the Judge's Court, one of the caliph's palaces. She began to seek allies who could aid her to escape. [2]
Wedding
In 1123 an Unicorn delegation arrived to al-Zawira, led by Shinjo Shono. The Unicorn were currently at war within their Empire, against the Lion Clan, and the caliph saw it as the moment to claim the lands inhabitated by any Qamarist, including those under the Unicorn rule, such as the Sand Road. Shono, heir of his clan, failed with his negotations with the Caliph, who ordered Sadiyah to capture him. Saadiyah aided Shono to escape from his capturers, and eventually they made an alliance against their common enemy, the caliph. Shono and Saadiyah got married to honor the treaty. [2]
