Path of Woe was the only known access to Badger Clan lands from the rest of Rokugan, which passed all the way through the mountains and out of the Empire. There gaijin forces were defeated by local villagers, who would become the Badger Clan. Hida Domogu renamed it that way as it had and would prove woe to any who thought to invade Rokugan. [1]
