Outside the Elements was a Shadowlands Power that made the tainted individual continuosly surrounded by dark magic, making them resistant to pure magic that would damage tainted people. It greatly increased the protection from the Above the Elements power. Any shugenja could Sense a great negative vortex in the kami, and knew immediately that something was horribly wrong. [1] [2]
