People |
Otomo Toruo was the eldest son of Hantei XV and Otomo Kaoichihime. He soon showed signs he would be much like his father, a mediocre Emperor, when he reached adulthood. [1]
Death[]
Toruo was seven years old when he died, drowned into one of the ornamental fountains in the palace gardens. His brother Otomo Okucheo had arranged his death, rationalizing to himself that the boy was weak and would endanger the Empire. Okucheo would succeed their father as Hantei XVI, the Steel Chrysanthemum. [2]
