Otomo Haruko was a courtier-ko of the Imperial Families, a powerful member of the Ministry of Rites in the Second City. [1]
Investigation[]
Doji Nikaitsu, a member of the local Crane delegation in the city, had been exhibiting some strange behavior of late. Haruko was ordered by his Lord to conduct an investigation. As the Ministry of Rites were not permitted to maintain their own magistrates, she recruited several samurai to uncover Nikaitsu's unknown agenda. [2] The mounting pressure ultimately drove Naikatsu to commit seppuku. [3]
