The One Leg Stance kata was taught in the Kakita Bushi school, and it might be learned using either the katana or yari, but must be learned seperately for each weapon. Without moving the legs the kata involved a flurry of movement, and like a crane the bushi tucked one leg beneath his body. This allowed the bushi to strike multiple times in rapid succession, but at the cost of his mobility. [1] [2]
