Obiete became the new headman of the eta people of the Hinjaku district of Otosan Uchi in 1123, after his predecesor, Banmei, was killed by men of Hojize district's governor, Mirumoto Hojize. Hinjaku district's governor Mirumoto Hinjaku had ordered the eta to not clean the district of his cousin Hojize. [1]
