Nitoru was a ronin bushi. He was a gunso leading a scouting unit of the Legion of Two Thousand.
Destroyer War[]
In 1173 during the Destroyer War, he volunteered in the doomed defence of Hachi Mura and convinced the officer in charge, Doji Hakuseki, to let him do so. The report on the event was written by Kakita Mitsouko. [1]
