Nezumi Dreamers were visionaries possessing the ability to see the dreams of others, and sometimes veen enter and shape them. When a dreamer died, they might enter the Realm of Dreams permanently, becoming a powerful ancestor known as a Transcendent. [1] They were the closest thing nezumi had to shugenja, but they functioned differently. Dreamers were attuned to Yume-dō, and they communed with both Transcendents, and with dream spirits known as baku. The former offered guidance and wisdom, which was usually vague and difficult to interpret. The latter led Dreamers through the invisible barriers between dreams, granting them access to the dreams of other nezumi, animals, people, and even divine beings. Among their abilities were dreamwalking, dreamshaping, and dreamseeking. [2]

Renegade Dreamers[]

A Dreamer who forsake the well-being of their tribe and worked only for personal benefit was extremely dangerous. Their talents could extend their life indefinitely, as they stole destinies via Yume-dō. This left victims like sleepwalkers, void of purpose or memory. If such a Dreamer was killed, the death released stolen destinies back into Yume-dō. [3]
