- Mystic Calligraphy (Wisdom): those who infused an invocation into a ward using calligraphy and specially prepared paper
- Ward Creation: those artisan who used a calligraphy set to create wards, preparing an invocation to take shape when a specified condition was met
- Wardmaster: skilled artisans created more powerful wards
- Spiritual Animation (Charisma): those artisans who invested spiritual power into small constructs called Shikigami, the art bind animating energy into paper
- Shikigami Creation: those artisans who used their calligraphy set to create a shikigami, a paper servant invested with a portion of their spiritual power that could act as spy, messenger, and ally in combat
- Army of Ink and Paper: skilled artisans were able to have up to three shikigami at a time
