Mulberry Valley in the Badger territory was known for its silkworms, used by the locals to create delicate silken items for trading. [1] It was a sun-warmed, volcanic valley turned out to be the perfect place to grow a rare variety of mulberry tree, which was established by a silk merchant who decided to stay with the Badger. Silk production became an important source of wealth for the Badger. Children helped feed the silkworms in their caves, and talented Badger samurai painted breathtaking mountain landscapes on the silk before it was sold to other clans. [2]
