Mountain's Shadow Dojo was once the name of the Daidoji Harrier dojo. Since the destruction of the Harriers in 1169 the dojo had been rebuilt, and would keep its name until the honor of the harriers was cleansed. [1] It had taught the Daidoji Duelist, Daidoji Iron Warrior, [2] Daidoji Harrier and Daidoji Yojimbo schools in the sublevels of burned Shiro Giji. [3]
Appearance[]
Physically the dojo appeared to be a simple shrine to Lady Doji and various Crane ancestors, tended by monks who were exclusively retired Daidoji. The Crane Clan Champion messages were sent by one of his personal attendants who left a single cherry blossom on the shrine's altar. The altar contained a large map of the Crane lands, wherever the blossom was placed, the Harriers were needed. [3]
Tradition[]
The practices there were the opposite of those taught in other Crane dojo, teaching to kill multiple foes quickly and silently, avoiding capture at any cost. The Harriers had a secret language of hand signals and body movements that they used to communicate with one another in the field. [4]
Training[]
Students first learned the art of stealth, secondly the ability to strike precisely, and they were also trained in the arts of sabotage and explosives. [4]
Sensei[]
The chief sensei of the dojo was one of the most powerful and influential members of the Daidoji family, and was usually found at the side of the Daidoji Daimyo, often presenting himself as a simple, low-ranking yojimbo. [4]
