Miya Kiyokaizu was the Miya Daimyo and the Imperial Herald near the end of the reign of Iweko I.
Demeanor[]
Kiyokaizu was renowned for his mastery of calligraphy, and he was also known for his casual confidence. He had a calm demeanor and an implacable On. [1]
Miya Daimyo[]
In 1198 Miya Shoin retired from all his posts to join the Brotherhood of Shinsei and his son succeeded him. [2]
Married[]
In 1199 Kiyokaizu married to a woman named Shinjiko, but appeared to have a slight predilection to appointing women of youth and beauty as his direct servants, who were known as “Kiyokaizu's Flowers.” [1]
Miya Daimyo[]
Kiyokaizu as part of his duties as Imperial Herald announced that Empress Iweko I had chosen her heir, the future Emperor of Rokugan [3] Iweko Seiken. [4]
War on the Empire[]
During the festivals predating Iweko Seiken's coronation, the Imperial Heir had publicly humiliated Daigotsu Kanpeki by announcing that he would remove him as Spider Clan Champion. Seiken's brother, Iweko Shibatsu would join the Susumu family as their daimyo and become Lord Spider. Kanpeki considered this as betrayal of the deal between his father and Iweko I and declared war on the Empire. [5]
Death[]
In 1200 an horde of ogres, goblins, oni, and other Shadowlands creatures appeared from the Shinomen Forest under the command of the rebellious Spider Clan Champion Daigotsu Kanpeki. Kyuden Miya fell, and Kiyokaizu was beheaded by Daigotsu Kendo. His wife and little son were spared. [6]
