Mirumoto Hojatsu was the adopted son of the Dragon Clan Thunder Mirumoto. [1]

In reply to his rival Kakita, who wrote "The Sword", a treatise which explained his techniques and philosophy of swordsmanship, Hojatsu wrote "Niten", which described the two-sword technique he and his adopted father developed. [2] Path of Hojatsu dōjō was named after him. [3]
