Matsu Yoshike was a samurai and scout of the Lion Clan.

Couerier of Yoshino's Vow[]

In 1169 Yoshike was present at Shiro Matsu in the Matsu Yoshino's vow to assault Shiro Moto in one year's time, which would be known as the march to Shiro Moto. Yoshino boasted that he would personally kill the Khan Moto Chagatai. Yoshike volunteered as courier to pass the message to Chagatai's hand. [1]

Wife[]

He was married to Matsu Aoiko in 1169, by arrangement of Aoiko's parents. [2]

Winter Court - 1169[]

Yoshike attended Winter Court at Kyuden Ikoma in winter 1169-1170 alongside his wife Aoiko. The two were witness to Yasuki Jinn-Kuen's repeated thinly veiled attempts at baiting the Daidoji Daimyo Daidoji Kikaze. Yoshike attempted to dissuade the two from harsh words. Aoiko and Yoshike both looked forward to the spring and the impending assault upon the Unicorn Clan. [2]

Fall of Shiro Moto[]

Yoshike fought in the Fall of Shiro Moto in 1170 as Matsu Yoshino's standard bearer. During the fight he was badly wounded. He refused to let his wounds healed if it would mean the news of the battle had to be carried out by another courier. He would brign the news to Kyuden Ikoma with his wounded yojimbo Matsu Daro, and a recently appointed bodyguard, the ronin Hisao, who had served the Lion during the battle as mercenary. [3]

Celestial Tournament[]

One day before the Celestial Tournament took place, Yoshike heard a plan from minions of the Shadowlands, and advised his lords. A group of renegade maho-tsukai and followers of the shokansuru conducted a ritual in the Ruined City to summon an army of lesser oni, including some wanyudo. A group of Lion bushi led by the Lion Clan Champion Akodo Shigetoshi arrived at the scene as the ritual was being performed, and managed to stop the group's plan. [4]
