Matsu Sinoku was a Lion Clan playwright, whose most notable work was Mercy, her last play. [1]
Family[]
Sinoku's mother had been a member of the Scorpion Clan. Sinoku also had a cousin, Matsu Sanuro, who attended the opening night of her play Mercy. [1]
Work[]
Her most powerful work, a play named Mercy, was devoted to the life and death of Matsu Uji, his wife Shosuro Sushanume and Uji's karo Sojuno. The play was only performed once. [1]
Death[]
Sinoku was killed by Akodo Kuinjin at the end of the first and only showing of Mercy. Kuinjin killed Sinoku, and then proceeded to kill all of the actors who had performed the play before declaring that the play would never be performed again. [2]
Sinoku's name was stricken from the histories, and all copies of her play were destroyed. Her cousin Sanuro was the only one to keep a copy in secret, having received one from Sinoku the morning of the play. [2]
