Matsu Noshin was the Lion general [1] who was elevated to the position of Emerald Champion after the previous champion, Doji Kuzume, had refused an order from the Emperor Hantei Ningi and committed seppuku. The order had been to execute a man named Togashi Kaze who had refused to show the Emperor his martial arts technique. After Noshin was given the position he executed Kaze as his Emperor had ordered him to, [2] in the year 268. [3]
