Matsu Duelist school began to teach the iaijutsu style as protection from their Crane rivals. It waws created by Matsu Seijuro, who had spent his childhood studying at the Kakita Dueling Academy as part of an exchange program. He analyzed what he learned from the Crane and altered it to best benefit the Lion. [1] His founder's sword, the Blade of the Golden Crane, was kept in a shrine devoted to Seijuro, and it was used only when the honor of the dojo had been impugned in some fashion. [2]
