Matsu Agetoki was a samurai of the Lion Clan.

Intolerant

Agetoki had intolerance toward the Unicorn, whom he considered just a group of gaijin. Agetoki showed his frustation to Matsu Seijuro when he knew that one of their finest lords would marry into the Unicorn.

Blood Feud

In 1113 Utaku Kumi was killed during one of Agetoki's campaigns pillaging Unicorn lands. Since then, her daughter Utaku Kamoko, a General of the Battle Maidens, sought revenge.

Toshi Ranbo

In 1123 Agetoki was part of the Lion contingent who attempted to retake the northernmost Lion city, Toshi Ranbo, from the Crane, who had occupied the city to force a Lion army away from the contested grain-laden Osari Plains in the south. During the ensuing fight the Lion Clan Champion Akodo Arasou died and his older brother Akodo Toturi became the new Lion Champion.

Figthing the Usurpers

In the 18th day of the Month of Hida an assembled army of Crane, Lion, Phoenix, Scorpion, and Unicorn samurai began an assaulu upon Otosan Uchi, which had been seized by the usurper Bayushi Shoju, who had announced his allegiance with the Shadowlands. The capital was defended by the Imperial Legions led by Ikoma Ujiaki and loyal Scorpions. Agetoki found that his nemesis, Utaku Kamoko, was among the Unicorn army.
