Master's Go Set were two bowls carved from perfect mahogany which held a set of Go pieces, black and white. It was crafted by Matsu Watako, the first apprentice of the monk and great smith Haru, over the scale of the Water Dragon, the sacred forge of Water Hammer City. [1]

The Go set had been imbued with Matsu Watako's skills in battle and also with her sense of honor, and one of these blessings was bestowed to those using the set to play a game of Go. [2]
