Masamune was a legendary Master Smith [1] and ronin warrior.
Masamune Katana and Wakizashi[]
Legend had it that Masamune's skill with a blade was matched only by his skill at making them. Most famous were the katana he made, but he also crafted several wakizashi of great beauty and power. They were called, simply, the Masamune Katana and Masamune Wakizashi. While all of the original Masamune blades were lost for generations, many swordsmiths studied and attempted to replicate his designs for generations to come. [2]
Emerald Champion[]
Nearly all written accounts of Masamune's life and deeds were lost when the Lying Darkness devastated the Ikoma Libraries. However, his story lived on in the legends and oral tradition of Rokugan. [2] It was said that Masamune was an Emerald Champion in the 7th century. [3]
