Mandana, called the Tiger Woman, was a powerful sorcerer woman, enforcer of Caliph Harun al-Hakim. [1]

Appearance

Mandana was a tall Nehiri woman with golden eyes who wore saffron-orange robes with a black fringe, gold at her ears, throat, and waist. Deep-red garnets sparkled on her bronze fingers. [1]

Sorcerer

Mandana practiced blood magic of old, binding a demon creature within several corpses to assemble an army of ghuls, bargaining with an Ifrit who swore to follow her command, and had deep knowledge on how to thrall humans and control them, using their bodies to see through their eyes. [1]

Shinjo Shono

In 1123 an Unicorn delegation arrived to al-Zawira, led by Shinjo Shono. The Unicorn were currently at war within their Empire, against the Lion Clan, and the caliph saw it as the moment to claim the lands inhabitated by any Qamarist, including those under the Unicorn rule, such as the Sand Road. Shono, heir of his clan, failed with his negotations with the Caliph, who ordered Sadiyah to capture him. Once Shono was on chains, Mandana removed one of his eyes and ate it, the beginnings of a ritual which would put Shono's body under her full control. Eventually her prisoner escaped, the demon creature was fred and returned to exact vengeance on Mandana, and the Ifrit manipulated the orders given by the sorcerer to roam free the Burning Sands, far from his master.
