Lions were Rokugani big cats, and the symbol of the Lion Clan. They could be found in the Osari Plains. [1] Matsu Beastmasters used to be accompanied by a lion, raised alongside them since adolescence, with which they had formed a bond of mutual respect. Caring for the lions of the Matsu was considered a sacred task, for legends claimed these lions carried the spirits of ancient kitsu. [2]
