Lezam was a stiff bow made of bamboo or whalebone used exclusively by the Tsuruchi family. It was a weapon used the Kshatriya of the Ivory Kingdoms, and during the Mantis-Ivory Kingdoms War the Tsuruchi smuggled it. [1]
Training Bow[]
The lezam did not have a curve at the end of the limbs, as the other Rokugani bows, and the handle of the lezam was placed on the middle of the bow. A heavy iron chain bent the bow instead of the conventional bowstring and it jingled when was drawn. The lezam was mostly used for training the new Tsuruchi samurai on how to draw the bow effectively. This bow was not an efficient weapon of war because its weight made the lezam unwieldy in combat.
